I am here to give back to a community that has given so much to me.
A historic heart, with a modern beat!
Calabogie has always been a special place for me. As a child, I spent my weekends and summers on the shores of Calabogie Lake. Our home on Kennedy Road was a safe place to play, explore, and grow.
Twenty years ago, I finally fulfilled a lifelong dream of making Calabogie my year-round home, shared with my wife Sharon.
Now retired, I’m excited to pour my energy into my community and would be honoured to serve again as one of your two Councillors representing Ward 1.
Over the past six decades in Calabogie, I have witnessed change — both positive changes, and some less so... we could have done better.
Change is inevitable, but it should be carefully planned and well managed. As a growing community, we need to be on the right side of change — where we acknowledge our history and identity, while building a solid future through careful planning based on consultation and collaboration.

Advancing Our Progress: Seeking a Second Term at the Table
While I am more than just the trusted neighbour down the road, there are some useful qualities and experiences I bring to the table as your Ward 1 Councillor:
LEADERSHIP
I believe that a collaborative approach is always the foundation of good leadership and governance.
I have been involved in leadership and team building for decades, both in our community and globally, including:

Chair of the Renfrew Victoria Hospital (RVH) Board of Directors

Senior Advisor at the World Health Organization (WHO)

Chair of the Leadership Ottawa organization

Councillor for Ward 1, Township of Greater Madawaska (2022-present)

I provided financial leadership and oversight in public and private organizations with budgets ranging from $100,000 to $55 million

I have served on boards of directors for nearly 25 years, including executive roles as Chair, Vice-Chair and Treasurer

I fostered innovative and new initiatives to improve health care services closer to home
COMMUNITY SERVICE
I draw strength and inspiration from my community and feel compelled to give back whenever possible.
